Fernando Arroyo hails from the Yucatan Peninsula and was raised in Waco, TX. Currently, he serves as the Chief of Staff of the Family Health Center and supports healthcare clinicians and frontline workers battling COVID-19 to keep the community safe and healthy. He has served as a global business consultant and advisor for a Fortune 50 high-tech firm and multiple Fortune 500 firms, led as a public and private school educator and administrator, mobilized community members as an organizer, and managed as a nonprofit leader in catalyzing affordable housing. More recently, Fernando completed multiple terms on the City of Waco Building and Standards Commission, championed entrepreneurs on the StartUp Waco founding board, and recently joined the boards of Inspiración Waco and City Center Waco. He has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an MBA from Baylor University and Masters in Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. For fun, you can find him engaging some of his seemingly disparate interests including playing salsa songs on congas, coding a computer program, wrestling with his children, perfecting (or screwing up) Yucatec Cuisine, gardening, or watching post-apocalyptic movies.
